The Berkeley County Community Service Program is based at the Berkeley County Day Report Center. This program has helped save more than $4 million in County Taxpayer Dollars, since the program was reorganized in 2017. The Berkeley County Community Service Program is in collaboration with the Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Berkeley County Commission, Presiding Judicial Offices of the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court, Berkeley County Magistrate Court and Berkeley County Solid Waste Authority.
Nonprofit/General Community Service Program:
Dozens of Governmental Entities and Nonprofit Organizations routinely receive support from the Berkeley County Community Service Program with various projects.
Student Community Service Program:
Students that are enrolled in College-level Programs can also obtain information on Community Service Opportunities. The Berkeley County Community Service Program can also help those students complete required Community Service hours that may be needed for them to graduate.
Roadside Litter Program:
The Berkeley County Roadside Litter Program goes out Monday through Friday, and this cleanup initiative was launched on June 1, 2018 by the Berkeley County Commission. The Roadside Litter collects thousands of bags of roadside litter and bulky items that are picked up along hundreds of miles of state-owned roadways in Berkeley County. The Berkeley County Roadside Litter Program also follows up on all online Roadside Litter Complaint Forms that are submitted to help meet the needs of any issues the community may be facing.
