In the interest of inspiring future generations, the Berkeley County Commission welcomes the participation of school-age students to take part in regular meetings of the governing body as an Honorary Commissioner!
Formally launched on April 30, 2009, the Honorary Commissioner Program was borne from the Berkeley County Commission’s observance of Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, April 23, 2009. On the occasion, four school-age children of County employees were invited to take the oath of office as “honorary commissioners.”
Students interested in participating in this program must contact the administration of the school they attend for more information.
