Transportation

Located at the northern gateway of the Shenandoah Valley, Berkeley County is served by both passenger and freight rail providers, regional airport and public transit - in addition to Interstate 81 highway connections to major East Coast population centers and business markets within a five hundred mile radius (Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Richmond and New York City).

Amtrak: Passenger rail services provided daily via Martinsburg Train Station.

MARC: Passenger rail service provided Monday thru Friday via Martinsburg Train Station.

CSX Transportation: Class I freight railroad traverses Berkeley County connecting with short line rail operator.

Winchester & Western Railroad (OmniTRAX): Shortline railroad provides rail service to multiple industries and manufacturers in Berkeley County.

Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority (EPTA): Provides public bus transportation services in Berkeley and Jefferson counties and City of Martinsburg.

Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport: General aviation airport, provides air charter service, aircraft hangars, aircraft maintenance and other services. 

Roads & Highways

West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH): Responsible for planning, engineering, rights-of-way acquisition, construction, reconstruction, traffic regulation and maintenance of more than 35,000 miles of state roads, including designated routes within jurisdiction of counties and municipalities. Collaborating agencies include the West Virginia Department of Transportation; Federal Highway Administration and the Hagerstown/Eastern Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization.
