Plan Your Trip to the Berkeley County Courthouse Complex
The Berkeley County Courthouse Complex is comprised of the following facilities: Judicial Center, 380 West South Street; Administration Annex, 400 W. Stephen Street; Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, 510 S. Raleigh Street; and Berkeley County Day Report Center, 520 S. Raleigh Street.
Berkeley County Judicial Center/Courthouse – 380 West South Street, Martinsburg

Courthouse Complex Parking
Free public parking for standard size vehicles is available in lots at 380 W. South Street, 324 South Raleigh Street and 400 South Raleigh Street and 510 South Raleigh Street, Martinsburg, 25401.
Public Transportation
The most convenient bus stop to the courthouse is the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority bus stop at intersection of South Raleigh and West South streets. Judicial Center/Courthouse Security
Screening Procedure
Each visitor who enters the Judicial Center of the Berkeley County Courthouse Complex will go through a security screening procedure. To speed up the process, visitors are asked to:
- Empty pockets and place contents in the container(s) provided.
- Place purses, briefcases, backpacks, and parcels on the x-ray machine as directed for scanning.
- Walk through the metal detector at the direction of the deputy court marshal.
- Inform the deputy if you have a metal implant and/or medical device attached to your body prior to walking through the metal detector.
- Deputies may perform an additional search using a handheld metal detector and/or physical search of the person/personal articles, if deemed necessary.
Items Prohibited in the Judicial Center/Courthouse
- Weapons
- Guns, stun guns, knives (or any sharp objects), ammunition, pepper spray, mace, razor blades, glass bottles, Illegal drugs.
- Any dangerous or hazardous material or property that could be used to injure or harm another person.
- Portable Electronic Devices
- Any type of audio/video recording devices, cellphones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, etc., must be brought back to your vehicle.
The Court Marshal’s Office is not responsible for any lost items or items left behind.

Judicial Center/Courthouse Etiquette
- Dress appropriately: shirts and shoes are required.
- Once you are in the courtroom and court has started, please remain seated and quiet until your case is called.
- No eating or drinking in the courtroom.
- No wearing hats or head coverings (other than religious head coverings or for medical reasons).
- If you have a child with you who starts to cry or becomes disruptive, please take them out of the courtroom.
- If you are standing in the hallway outside the courtroom, please conduct yourself in a quiet and orderly manner.

The judicial offices of Berkeley County make every effort to ensure services are accessible. Citizens can request accommodations or auxiliary services by contacting the county Chief Court Marshal.
