[ARCHIVED] FREE Family Emergency Preparedness Class to be held July 11

Berkeley County, W.Va. - Residents are invited to Join members of the Berkeley County Office of Emergency Management to learn about best practices and ideas in family preparation for emergency situations on July 11. 

The Berkeley County Office of Emergency Management is inviting members of the community to attend a free Family Emergency Preparedness class on Thursday, July 11 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Company, 7556 Winchester Ave., Inwood, WV. This event is free and open to the public.

  • Participants will learn about how to get emergency notifications, how to create an emergency family plan, emergency kit, and home evacuation plan.  Tips for sheltering in place and generator safety will also be included.  
  • Participants will receive a Resources List with links to reliable information, educational videos, and fillable forms to assist in preparing for both man-made and natural emergencies.
