[ARCHIVED] Telecommunicator, Supervisor of 2023 Awards Announced

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (April 12, 2024) – Caitlin Nawrocki and Allison Litten have been recognized as the 2023 Telecommunicator of the Year and 2023 Supervisor of the Year, respectively, by the Berkeley County Department of Emergency Communications.

The awards were presented at Thursday’s regular meeting of the Berkeley County Commission by Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) Director Jennifer Swisher and Deputy Director Paula Wilson.

“Caitlin’s dedication to her role, her impeccable attendance record, and her genuine concern for the community exemplify the highest standards of excellence in telecommunication,” Swisher said.

Swisher recognized Litten’s commitment to the DEC through her service as one of the department’s certified training officers.

“Throughout her tenure, Allison has demonstrated dedication to serving our community. Her involvement in various committees, including public education and peer support, reflects her deep-rooted passion for advancing the welfare of others,’ Swisher said.

As in past years, Swisher told Berkeley County Commissioners that it was extremely difficult to decide who to recognize each year.

“All are truly worthy of getting it,” Swisher said.

The staff recognitions were made in conjunction with National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, which is April 14-20, 2024.
