MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Berkeley County Fire Department Chief Martin Roberts had the honor of promoting Firefighter Jeremy Taylor to the rank of Lieutenant on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 during the Berkeley County Commission meeting.
Lieutenant Taylor was hired in February 2019 by former Fire Chief G. Edgar "Eddie" Gochenour, who is now Vice-President of the County Commission.
Over the past five years, Lt. Taylor has demonstrated outstanding firefighting and leadership skills and also served as the training officer for the department, according to Chief Roberts.
After a rigorous promotion process, consisting of several outstanding candidates, Firefighter Taylor was selected for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant/Training Officer. In this capacity he will lead C Shift and oversee the training for the department.
Lt. Taylor is an excellent addition to the department’s cadre, according to Roberts.
